The mission of the teachers and staff of St. Paul 's Episcopal School is to provide a safe environment that fosters the emotional, physical and intellectual growth of the whole child. We strive to provide a program that enhances creativity, curiosity, self-discipline, and a healthy attitude toward learning in an atmosphere of Christian love.

We believe, based on the theories of Piaget, Montessori, Vygotsky and others, that young children learn best through being actively involved with materials in their environment and through interaction with other children. We feel that it is essential that children be allowed the freedom to explore their environment and to learn through and to learn through trial and error.

We also feel that the child's experience in the preschool setting should be a positive one. We want each child to develop a positive self-image and an “I can do it!” attitude. By providing materials and activities with which the child can be successful, we will be able to develop the child's sense of confidence and self-esteem.
